Matrix themes are based on custom layout available in Jimdo website builder. It means you can create a fully customizable website having access to all it's resources.
The 'Matrix' are small elements of Jimdo website builder that you will find in the source code.

Can Matrix Themes be installed on Jimdo Dolphin website?
Matrix Themes can be used only with Jimdo Creator. If you use Jimdo Dolphin, you can contact the official Jimdo support asking to change the account for Jimdo Creator.
Can I use Matrix theme without knowledge of coding?
Yes, each step, widget or any custom feature in Matrix Themes is well documented with examples and shortcodes. However, it is possible to get installed Matrix theme and use it as default Jimdo template. Check this page with Matrix Themes widgets that don't require using Widget/HTML module.
Websites with too many pages and Matrix themes
If your website has many pages, it doesn't mean you can't use Matrix Theme, but you need to change your navigation structure in order to have a slim menu ( at least the first level ). A custom layout gives you a possibility to customize many elements of your website, from blog posts to online store items. So that's why having 300 different products in your store wouldn't be convenient to make changes in every single page and in this case it's better to use a standard Jimdo template. Obviously here we talk about the existing content and not the new websites.

If you like to test some features of Matrix themes, you can install the framework "Zodiac". Zodiac is based on Matrix themes widgets and although can be used only with standard Jimdo templates, you can install a free version to see how it works and whether you can manage to use it on your website

01. Multi Purpose
Multi Purpose or Default are templates with dropdown menu.
The main navigation has 2 sub-levels which are displayed like dropdown menu
02. Explosion
Explosion version has mega dropdown menu which doesn't require any coding knowledge,- you edit your menu like any other standard Jimdo template
03. Multilingual
Multilingual themes have a special structure of navigation where the first level used only for the language select. The second level is the main navigation with sub-level. This kind of website has 3 different position for each level (3) and can't be used with dropdown menu.
04. One pager
One page layout a specific template which has the main menu edited in Widget/HTML or Text module. This kind of template is perfect for landing pages, portfolio, event websites etc. It is not suggested to use for online stores or blog.

Can I switch from one type of the template( e.g. Multi Purpose) to Multilingual?
It's not possible to change the type of the template as each theme has it's own navigation structure
How does megamenu work?
If you add one sub-level to your main navigation, it will be displayed as standard dropdown menu. When you add another sub-level (3rd level) it will be displayed as megamenu with 4 columns

Why can't I start with Advanced package?
The advanced package is available only for Jimdo Experts, Matrix Themes partners and returning customers who in the past used at least one theme.
Can I use Zodiac framework in Matrix Themes?
No, Zodiac is based on Matrix Themes widgets which are already included by default in your template. The framework can be used only in standard Jimdo templates.

Purchase
After submitting the form from purchase page, you will receive the instructions about the payment which can be made through Paypal.
The payment is one-time,
you don't need to pay every year.
In case the new template is not what you expected or too difficult to edit,- just fill out the form from support page asking for a refund.
Full refunds to any unsatisfied customer up to 10 days after the purchase was made!
Installation
After the payment, you will be required to provide the website access for the installation. The new theme will be installed in 24h after the payment.

Can I install the template on my own? I don't want to give the access to my website
No, the custom layout is being installed by Matrix Themes team and once it's finished, you can change the website access.
The alternative installation can be made on your free Jimdo test website. In section documentation you can find a detailed tutorial about how to transfer a custom layout from one website to another.
The choice is yours.

@Herbert unfortunately, Matrix Theme don't provide any SEO tools but just some general tips and suggestions in documentation;
-There's a js plugin 'Lazy' that can be used for any element of Jimdo site;
- In Admin menu > SEO> settings. This section is the same in custom layout too;
- web.js is necessary file for running Jimdo site and can't be removed or modified.

@Andre you can start editing your site with Matrix theme and upgrade your Jimdo plan later but keep in mind that some features ( body classes) available only in Jimdo Pro or Business account. For the second question the answer is yes.

we have an existing jimdo business website and a second jimdo free page. now I would like to purchase the lemberg template to build up a new site for our business. is it possible to build the new website with lemberg on the jimdo free page and later copy it on our official jimdo business website?

After the purchase, what do I get? Is it the template as an alternative to my actual template (Jimdo), shown within the menue, - and I am the one, who decides, when I am ready to switch to it?
When do I have to save any "codes" and such?

I'm not yet life with my Jimdo Site. Customization with Jimdo is finished now and I'm ready to go but would like to upgrade before I go online since I don't want to be life with a half finished Site - after the upgrade to Lemberg. My understanding is, once you are life than everyone has access, no option for a testing environment except the maintenance mode in Jimdo which is not sufficient.
Is it possible to upgrade to Lemberg anyway? My Jimdo Package is PRO.

Horten Ultimate is the same like Horten explosion but it has animated navigation and additional widgets available in Enterprise package:

I am a little bit confused. I have just ordered a new jimdo business website. Everthing ok as long. In the next step, i would like to buy one of your themes for my new website. But I do not know which is the right choice for me.
I do not understand the diferrence between for instance "Horten Explosion" and "Horten Ultimate".
What is the difference between a theme of an enterprise package (like Horton Ultimate) and a theme you describe in your section "Popular Design"
Horten Explosion in an enterprise package seems to be ok for me. But what is the Add-On, when i would take "Horton Ultimate" ? Sorry for my confusion.

I am about to decide between Squarespace and Jimdo to realize a new web shop. In terms of design I would defenitely prefer Squarespace, however in terms of adressing special requirements of German law I would prefer Jimdo. Now my question:
Is it possible to realize a "Jaunt-like" design (https://www.squarespace.com/templates/jaunt) based on a matrix theme (full width, gallery-styled pictures with captions that function as hyperlinks, mouse-over effect for those pics etc.). Which one would you recommend? Gotland?

@Clemens the default version has standard dropdown menu, while the explosion version has megamenu. That's only one difference.How does megamenu works: you edit it as a usual Jimdo navigation. The enterprise packages such as Yoga, Coaching etc can be used for any other business and different kind of websites.
